Participants of the Azerbaijani Journalists’ Sixth Congress made an appeal to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

«Great attention and care provided to media in Azerbaijan, as an important part of the multivector policy, foundation of which was laid by national leader Heydar Aliyev and successfully implemented by you, is perceived by the journalist community with deep respect,» the appeal says.

Measures aimed at strengthening the logistics base of Azerbaijani media outlets, enhancing their independence, support to their initiatives in various spheres of public life, improvement of journalists’ social welfare and realization of other similar tasks, confirm the presence of reliable media environment in the country. The organization of important conferences and seminars today in Azerbaijan in the field of media, which is a dynamic sphere in Azerbaijan, serves to the growth of the country’s international image, the letter of appeal says.

«Journalists freely share their views and opinions and put forward initiatives that reflect their wishes. Formation of dialogue that exists between the media and the authorities comes from your sensitivity to the media. We were very pleased to hear news of another example of such sensitivity, displayed toward our seriously ill colleague Nijat Daghlar,» the appeal says.

The appeal also noted that each of the directions, reflected in the President’s congratulatory letter to the participants of the Sixth Congress of Azerbaijani Journalists, is an example of great trust.

«On behalf of the participants of the Azerbaijani Journalists’ Congress we once again express our deep appreciation for the sensitive approach to journalism in the country as a whole, we wish every success in your tireless work aimed at the further prosperity of our Motherland — Azerbaijan,» the appeal says.
